The ceremonial focus at Edzná is the Temple of the Niches seen here standing
against the Campeche rainy season sky. Edzná boasts a unique grandstand structure
that faces a large performance plaza in front of the acropolis, and also two arresting
Pre-classic masks —reminiscent of the masks at Kohunlich—revealed in the tablatures
of an early temple standing to the southeast of the acropolis and near the ballcourt.
