Ek Balam is a walled
city just one day march from imperial Chichén Itzá. All the major buildings in this surprising and rarely visited site are gathered together in a tightly nucleated ceremonial precinct.The Mexican government has done major restoration at the site which to this observer's eye seems highly suspect.
