The Palace of the Masks, a Late Classic building
at Kabáh in the Puuc
Hills,
shows the central icon of Puuc-Chenes art, the rain-god mask of Chac.
The palace façade was covered from basal- to the terminal molding
with
more than two hundred Chac masks.
