The Siegewall

Noted in previous years, the surrounding defensive wall of the North Acropolis was cleared and mapped in the 1996 season. In the view toward the East Acropolis, we can see the well-footed base of the wall as it protects the entire perimeter of the platform. In several areas, sally ports, fall-back positions, and well designed, walled-in killing zones were also uncovered.
