The Mission Church
The road from the ruins and the field camp passes by the old mission church of Yaxuná. Constructed in the 17th Century, it was destroyed by fire during the Caste War of 1847-49. No longer the province of a parish priest, local Maya conduct their own services on Sundays and holy days.
